Two New Appointments to the Board
4R Group is gearing up for the next phase of its growth plan with the promotion of two senior members of the team to Board status. Founded in 2006, 4R Group provides specialist nationwide services, recycling and recovering a wide range of organic and inorganic materials for land and soil improvement. The Company is aided by its’ inhouse specialist consultancy team, who also offer their advisory services to external clients.
Dr Becky Wheeler has a key role as Director, Head of Consultancy within the 4R Environmental Consultants’ Division where she has been building the reputation of the business since joining the company in 2010. Becky graduated with a PhD from the University of Reading after completing her doctoral thesis on the market development of waste-derived organics. She is a Chartered Scientist through the IPSS and professional member of the IPSS.
Becky is a specialist in the market development and recycling of mixed waste organics and has spent 14 years in the organics recycling sector recovering a range of materials to land. She leads the company’s experienced technical consultancy team, delivering specialist work across PAS/QP, Sludge Regulations (including Biosolids Assurance Scheme), contaminated land and incident/emergency clean-up. Becky has been involved in a multitude of waste and land regeneration projects and has a proven track record in Environmental Permitting and planning.
Paul Whyatt, joining the board after 4 years with 4R Group has been appointed Technical Director. He has a BSc in Soil Science and MSc in Environmental Microbiology and has acquired a vast amount of experience and knowledge across the waste management, horticultural and land restoration sectors with hands-on experience of handling and marketing a variety of organic waste streams. During his time at 4R Paul has been at the operational end of the planning and permitting process to ensure that these materials are safely and effectively recycled, whilst restoring sites which have undergone significant degradation from their original natural state. He has overseen the restoration of numerous brownfield sites including colliery spoil tips, quarries and landfill sites. These have been fully restored to the required end use with little or no cost to the land owner.

Becky will continue to grow our Consultancy business and expand our offering of expertise to external clients whilst advising 4R Group on safe and compliant handling of waste organic materials to agricultural and restoration land.”
