Head of Consultancy
Role Purpose
Head of Consultancy ensures that the technical requirements of the 4R Group and its external clients are delivered efficiently and to the required standards via the in-house team of technical consultants.
Main Duties and Responsibilities – What you need to do.
- Lead our team of in-house technical consultants to deliver high quality outputs on behalf of 4R Group and external clients.
- Drive forward the expansion of our portfolio of external consultancy clients via active business development, including monitoring of tender opportunities and visiting both existing and potential customers.
- Work closely with internal team members, external clients and environmental regulators to ensure the highest standards and compliance are maintained at all times.
- Ensure that relevant industry updates and consultations are monitored and that any changes to regulations and standards are communicated to 4R Group and introduced to our systems.
- Ensure that our systems and processes remain compliant with current regulations and standards via a schedule of auditing and quality control.
4R Group Shared Duties – What we all do.
- To act as an ambassador for the Group at all times.
- Health and Safety: to work to and follow all safety regulations under prevailing legislation and any relevant policies and job risk assessment.
- Quality Management Systems: to be aware, understand and work to the requirements under the Group’s external accreditations including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, 45001.
- Teamworking: the nature of our work and the size of our team at 4R Group requires everyone here to be flexible. Personal Specification – What you should have.
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in geo-environmental, agricultural, soil or plant sciences o Member of Chartered Institute of Waste Management (CIWM) or Chartered with relevant body (C.Env/C.Sci/C.Chem)
- FACTS qualified
Skills/Knowledge
- A strong understanding of general principles of soil science and soil (inorganic and organic) chemistry
- Understanding of the principles of crop nutrition
- Strong understanding of Environmental Permitting regulations o Experience of waste and recycling industry
- Capable in the rigorous classification and chemical assessment of materials and by- products in line with current waste classification guidance (WM3). Experience of undertaking End of Waste assessments would be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated o Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised and adaptable to a range of tasks (practical and desk based)
- Comfortable managing and working independently and in a team environment
- IT: proficient user of MS Packages in Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Clean driving licence
- Right to Work in UK without sponsorship
Hours
- Full time – 40 hours per week
Location
Office-based in Newent, Gloucestershire or Knottingley, Yorkshire. Some travelling to clients/farms/agricultural sites/conferences etc nationwide.
Pay and Benefits
Salary
- £40k – £50k per annum (commensurate with experience & qualifications)
